Wayne Smith is the Director of Education and Workforce Development for HospitalityTN and the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association. In his role, Wayne focuses on supporting and enhancing high school & postsecondary hospitality & tourism programs throughout Tennessee. He is responsible for the management and development of the Hospitality Tennessee Education Foundation, whose mission is to educate the current and future hospitality and tourism workforce.
Smith was formerly a Major Restaurant Accounts Manager for Kraft Foodservice in Nashville before spending a cumulative 25 years in public and private education where his experience included teaching business & marketing, guidance counselor, development/administration, and coaching. He served as a DECA Chapter Advisor for ten years (Student Non-Profit Organization Preparing Emerging Leaders and Entrepreneurs) and was named Middle TN AAA Softball Coach of the Year in 2010.
Smith is a Kentucky native and holds a B.S. Degree in Marketing from Murray State University.
